Cultural Canvas Kolhapur 2008 was held on 27th January. 42 prominent Watercolor artists from Kolhapur, Sangli and Islampur participated. The Bhalji Pendharkar Cultural Centre was the meeting ground from where the artists then dispersed around the city of Kolhapur to create their artworks.

Proceeds from this Cultural Canvas will be given back to the participating artists and to the Society for Education of the Crippled (SEC).

The Smart & U Visual Arts Foundation provides grants for Education in the Arts, distributes Art Supplies and will also make available studio spaces for emerging artists.
