Cultural Canvas is a global project initiated by Smart & U under the umbrella of The SMART & U - Visual Arts Foundation to encourage participation in the arts. The idea of Cultural Canvas came about as an initiative to expand the views of art students by exchanging experiences and stimulating their creative thinking through a collaborative approach. This project aims to provide a real and imaginative space for students to research, explore, collaborate and create contemporary art works without restrictions to medium, method and issues. To achieve this, SMART & U will continue to invite students & artists to participate to accomplish this endeavour. The objective of the Cultural Canvas is to support emerging artists & broaden audiences for their work.

The Smart & U Visual Arts Foundation provides grants for education in the Arts, distributes art supplies and will also make available studio spaces for emerging artists.
