Born in 1947 in New Delhi, Satish Gupta studied art for five years at the College of Art, New Delhi. He moved to Paris on a scholarship to study graphics and stayed there for two formative years, 1970-72. At present, he lives in New Delhi and works from his studio Zazen, in Gurgaon.

Gallery Art & Soul released his book 'Centering Awareness', a book on Shiva on 18th Oct 2007 in Mumbai, at the Taj Mahal Hotel. Mr. Praful Patel did the honours.
