Geeta was born and raised in Mumbai. After doing Applied Art at Sophia College, she went on to study fashion design at SNDT. 
As a child, Geeta was constantly sketching and painting. Her early love for art coupled with a creative mind, led to her first oil painting at the age of fourteen. Since that early age, Geeta has always been recognized for her ability to express herself through art.  
It is her belief that formal training distorts and channelizes an individual’s style. As a result, she has developed her talent purely on her own merit. 

As an artist, Geeta was a recluse and even though she never showed her art publicly, she was commissioned to do several canvases by friends and acquaintances for their homes and offices.
